I'm Lauren Eggert-Crowe, the creator of Galatea's Pants and this website. I'm a graduate of the Robert E. Cook Honors College, Indiana University of Pennsylvania in Indiana, Pennsylvania, where I majored in English, with minors in Spanish and Women's Studies, and The University of Arizona, where I earned a Masters of Fine Arts in poetry. Aside from writing Galatea's Pants, I write a political blog called Present Progressive Mood, participate in various activism for social justice, and write poetry. My work has been published in Puerto Del Sol, You Are Here: The Journal of Creative Geography, So To Speak, Alligator Juniper, DIAGRAM, Water-Stone Review, and Dirty Goat. My other interests are scattered and discontinuous but include critical theory, cooking, Socialism, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Latin America, dance, photography, ethnomusicology, post-colonial feminism, cycling, radical politics, ethnobotany and trees. I recently fulfilled a New Year's Resolution to read my weight in books, which took me three and a half years to complete. You can track my progress here.
